Our Standard
The ASPIRE Olympiad is aligned with the principles and proficiency levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), following internationally recognised standards comparable to Cambridge-style English assessments — while remaining an independent examination, designed specifically to reward student achievement at every stage of their educational journey.
How It Works
The competition is held annually across three consecutive stages — Local, National, and International — and is structured around five age categories (6–18 years), each aligned to an indicative CEFR level. This approach ensures fair competition suited to each participant's actual level of cognitive and linguistic development, rather than their school grade.
From reading comprehension and use of English to writing, listening, and speaking in the International Stage, we assess students' complete communicative competence — not just theoretical knowledge.
Our Team
ASPIRE is led by an international team of educators, examiners, and language assessment specialists, working across multiple countries to design, administer, and evaluate the Olympiad to a consistent, world-class standard. Our examiners and coordinators bring diverse academic backgrounds and shared expertise in English language teaching and assessment, ensuring that every participant — regardless of country — is evaluated fairly and rigorously against the same international benchmark.
